We’ve been talking about doing this for quite some time, and FINALLY it is becoming a reality. We felt it best to kick off our frugal eating ways with lunch at Five Loaves near Ashley’s apartment in Mt. Pleasant. Ashley and I both got the soup and 1/2 sandwich deal, which we feel is the best way to get a sufficient lunch for a very reasonable price. We both had the Sweet Chili Glazed Eggplant Wrap and the Tomato and Coconut soup, which might I say were both superb. We loved the way the peanut sauce was served on the side and not smothered on the wrap, because sometimes sauces can make sandwiches a little messy and also add unnecessary calories! We both stuck to water for our beverages, and in total spent about $9.60 each-talk about a great deal! Both the soup and the wrap complemented each other quite well, with the tang from the soup and sweetness of the chili glaze on the eggplant. If you’re looking for a meal that’s light, delicious and more on the healthy side, this is definitely the place to go.
Stay tuned for our next budget-savvy food adventure!
